Hello I got the job! They apparently are able to see past the fact that my incompetence shines when faced with the dubious task of opening doors and are willing to test the theory that I’m actually intelligent, as stated by my glowing references.

And it’s temp to perm, so no more getting bounced around like the forgotten child in a divorce. After 3-6 months, I’ll be making more money than I was when I was working full-time; more money for less work? This really panders to my lady of leisure lifestyle.

I start on Monday. I’m so happy I can breathe again.

I left Chooch sitting in front of the Toys R Us website and told him to go wild. Just not too wild. Like, under $50 wild.

OMG now I can eat! And buy new jeans! TODAY I LOVE EVERYONE!

  1. yayyyy! congrats! do you mind if i ask which staffing agency you used? my gf just got cut to part-time at her job, and so she’s looking around for some kind of temp to perm thing.

    • Hey Gina, I had really good luck with Office Team for admin jobs… Act-1 was pretty ok too!

    • Thanks Gina! I don’t mind you asking!

I used Today’s Office Professionals for this one; they actually contacted me through Careerbuilder.com. Their office is downtown in the Gulf Building, and the agent who helped me was Jenn. She’s great!

I also used Novus Staffing, which is out in Robinson. Our mutual friend Sarah’s mom works there and she is really great! My scheduling requirements are so rigid and they still happily worked with me and managed to find me jobs really quickly.

  2. Congratulations!

you shoulda told them you’d need some time off, paid, to come see me this summer before you were going to accept their offer of a job, though. ;)

  8. SOOOOOO happy for you! What is your schedule? We’re trying to plan our next trip to visit for the bday party in May and need to know if you’re off on Friday or not, so we can decide whether to stay one or two nights.
