Henry and I went to another 50501 event downtown, this one was pro-immigrants anti-ICE. I definitely didn’t want to miss this because it was organized with Case San Jose and their speaker at the No Kings protest last month (Jaime) was so powerful that I needed to hear him speak again.

It was mostly a peaceful – yet angry – gathering. There was one asshole who screamed YES THEY ARE when one of the speakers was talking about how pro-Palestine college students protesting on campuses are being labeled as terrorist organizations by this evil administration. It started to escalate a bit when the speaker engaged him but other protestors quickly surrounded the douchebag and pushed him back until the police intervened. He eventually stormed off like the sad sack that he is.

Anyway, here are some pictures. I feel so fired up and ready to sign up to join an ICE rapid response team even though I don’t know that I can handle these two duties: being a peacekeeper and helping to de-escalate. Henry was like “You can’t do that” and Chooch was like “good luck.”
