Friday night chilling

We really do not spend enough time in the attic which sounds weird like we’re lamenting not sitting in a musty unfinished room amongst sheet-covered furniture, cobwebs, and boxed Christmas decorations. But our attic is cool! Since Chooch moved out, it is woefully underused (although, Penelope loves to sneak off and nap on the couch up there, to the point where she actually gets pissed if anyone else comes up and deigns to disturb her).
So we decided to stay home last night and hang out up there. I wanted to get some Riot Fest journal pages done and Henry had some Kpop greeting cards to make, so we put on some records, shared some pumpkin beers, and with the exception of me pouting because one of my pages was annoying me and not working out the way I wanted it to (see also: the opposite of being a therapeutic activity for me), it was a really chill night!

This corner especially never fails to tickle me. I am so proud of that stupid fur wall.

CD reflection selfie.

Disco ball selfie.

Portrait of an Always Angry Man.

Once we finished our projects, it was party time! Well, in that the mood lighting came on. “Henry” and “party time” don’t really go hand-in-hand.

Anyway, I have been practicing these dumb backbend selfies for some time now because I think it would be fun to do at my next get-together (Chingumas 2026 is happening after last year’s hiatus!). I am actually kicking myself for not trying this out publicly on Sunday night with Shawn and Jess, but we do have an upcoming date with them (at Glitterbox again, I can’t stay away!!) so I need to remember! Until then, I will keep making Henry practice with me even though he gives the bare minimum on his end. (To be fair, he did keep me from falling down the steps last night while doing this.)

It is so dumb but I am always wanting to do what the kids are doing, WDYM DOES MY BACK HURT?
Anyway, Henry was all, “I just wanted to drink a beer and relax up here, not do whatever….this….is.”
